About the Role (Fixed Term - 18 months)

To effectively manage the brands within the Scottish portfolio, through the development and implementation of strategic brand & NPD plans across global markets.

To support the Marketing Director in the day to day running of the Brand Team, providing support and direction to Brand Management across the marketing team, and deputising in the absence of the Marketing Director when required.

Main Responsibilities 

  • In conjunction with the Marketing Director, develop the portfolio strategy for the Scottish Portfolio, recommending and developing plans for core brands growth & NPD in line with our company strategy.
  • With the Marketing Director, develop a culture of being consumer led, creative and innovative, to ensure our brands can punch way above their weight.
  • Propose & develop marketing strategies for the portfolio, working closely with Regional Sales Teams and Channel Marketing across all key markets to get buy in and support for those strategies.
  • Lead a team of Brand Managers to develop outstanding brand strategies, plans and toolkits which enable the brands to fulfil their portfolio role for consumers, customers and the business.
  • Develop and execute effective brand communication campaigns, both online and offline. Collaborate with marketing communication team to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice in all marketing materials.
  • Lead the long-term NPD planning for the Scottish Portfolio, building a funnel of strong consumer led ideas over a 3-5-year horizon, and work closely with our Master Blender & Operations to develop a stock management strategy allows us to maximise the return on our stocks.
  • In conjunction with consumer insights, conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and guide brand strategies. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging consumer preferences.
  • Working closely with the Marketing Operations Manager, oversee the marketing budgets, recommending optimal use of marketing investment, and ensuring that activities are evaluated and improved on an ongoing basis.
  • With support from the Marketing Operations Manager, safeguard and enhance the brand’s equity and reputation by monitoring market trends, competitor activities and customer feedback. Implement strategies to address any brand related issues or challenges.
  • Through collaboration with Marketing communications team, develop and maintain strategic brand guidelines and standards to ensure consistent application of the brands across all channels, including visual identity, tone of voice and messaging.
  • Lead and develop a team the brand team, ensuring that they are supported, have training and development plans in place, and are motivated and inspired to deliver great work.
  • Manage and own your professional development in order to achieve your work objectives and your career and personal goals. 

Scope of Role 

  • Current and future brands within the Scottish portfolio.
  • Expected to contribute to and recommend actions regarding our portfolio strategy, marketing strategy and brand strategies, which would be signed off by Marketing Director.
  • Expected to make decisions arising from the day to day running of the brands without needing input from the Marketing Director.

Work Environment

  • Full-time, 34 hour working week, hybrid flexible working
  • This role does require travel within and outside the UK and the job holder will be required to stay away from home.
  • Required to work additional hours as necessitated by the needs of the business.

Job Qualification

About You

  • Proven experience in marketing, already having managed brands on a global scale
  • Evidence of having delivered creative, commercially successful marketing activity in previous roles
  • Experience in the drinks industry an advantage, though not essential. FMCG background also useful.
  • Commercially astute and the ability to be able to demonstrate ROI.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Very strong interpersonal, communication & presentation skills, and must have personal credibility and the ability to engage and enthuse a wide variety of audiences.

  • Qualified to degree level, preferably having a professional marketing / digital orientated degree / diploma
  • Foreign language an advantage but not compulsory
