About the Role (Fixed Term - 18 months)

To effectively support the brand management of our spirit brands under the guidance of the Brand Manager. This involves assisting with strategic brand development, including packaging development, communication planning & execution, promotional activity and PR within the allocated brand budget. This part of the role will focus on driving value from the volume, predominantly through NPD initiatives, and by delivery of annual brand plans and toolkits for implementation within identified core target markets.

Main Responsibilities

  • To implement global brand plans that will deliver to commercial business targets. An understanding of marketing strategy and P&L commercials is a necessity to this position.
  • To work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to successfully deliver these plans and measure and monitor progress versus pre-defined KPIs.
  • Brand plan delivery will include a number of specific duties, including: 
    •  Management of approved brand spend within the annual budget allocation.
    • To support the management of the creative development process in line with brand strategy and positioning
    • Work effectively with and ensure value from appointed marketing services agencies.
    • To support in developing engaging global content across various channels.
    • To recommend and implement any product or packaging development work required.
    • To make presentations to the business and to key customers when required.
    • To organise and attend key trade & consumer exhibition and events.
  • Assist with obtaining and analysing information relating to markets to develop key brand objectives & provide strategic marketing direction for the Company.
  • Support in the development and implementation marketing communication strategies; identify target audience, objectives, message, and media for all aspects of the promotional mix.
  • Support in the creation competitive and sustainable pricing strategies.
  • Work closely with the Brand Manager and internal stakeholders to deliver effective brand toolkits.
  • Ensure marketing operations comply with legal, regulatory, ethical, and social requirements.
  • Manage and own your professional development in order to achieve your work objectives and your career and personal goals.
  • To support the analysis of monthly brand performance.
  • To lead and support various new product development with cross functional project teams through our stage gate process from initiation to launch to post launch review.
  • To champion the brand point of sale strategy.
  • To support the ongoing development of brand experience within our brand home(s).
  •  Manage and own your professional development in order to achieve your work objectives and your career and personal goals.

Scope of Role

  • The Assistant Brand Manager will be required to work closely with the Senior Brand Manager to achieve the agreed objectives of the Brand Plans, successfully implement and measure key marketing initiatives.

Work Environment

  • Full-time, 34 hour working week, hybrid flexible working
  • This role does require travel within and outside the UK and the job holder will be required to stay away from home.

Job Qualification

About You

  • Educated to degree level preferably in marketing/business.
  • 2+ years’ experience in product/brand/marketing management role – preferably within FMCG/drinks industry.
  • Strong understanding of P&L
  • Strong commercial reporting skills.
  • Analytical and innovative.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & presentation skills.
  • Good influencing skills.
  • Foreign language an advantage but not compulsory.
