About The Role

This role will focus on driving sustainable growth, building long-term strategic relationships, and executing effective plans to ensure success across key national retail accounts. The NAM will play a pivotal role in delivering revenue, profitability, and increasing market share objectives while maintaining the integrity and values of our branded portfolio.

Main Responsibilities

Account Management & Growth:

  • P&L management for retail accounts (Big 5) and overseeing the channel, to maximize sales performance, brand visibility and activation.
  • Create key account plans with retail partners to deliver opportunities for growth within focus categories and new brand distribution points across the targeted portfolio.
  • Deliver annual sales targets, including revenue, profit, and volume metrics, by leveraging market insights and consumer trends, aligned with brand guidelines.

Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Lead the development of the 3-5 year sales strategies through the IBHL portfolio for the retail channel to deliver and maximise our growth potential.
  • Collaborate with channel & brand marketing to ensure consistent execution of initiatives in store and online platforms with timely evaluation to establish ROI.
  • Forecast sales performance on a monthly basis to track & manage stock holding to identify risk and opportunities to manage business expectations.

Relationship Building:

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with buyers and key stakeholders across our retail partners and internal teams – be the main point of contact.
  • Co-ordinate across departments (finance, supply chain, customer experience etc) to manage and resolve any account issues or performance related impact.
  • Negotiate contracts, promotions, and pricing agreements that align with company objectives while fostering strong partnerships.

Market & Consumer Insight:

  • Monitor market & customer trends, competitor activity, and shopper behaviours to inform and drive business decisions based fact based insights (Nielsen, Kantar, customer platforms etc)
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations to support innovation, product launches, and category management initiatives.
  • Prepare monthly & quarterly reports to communicate channel performance by customer, brand and investment.

Leadership & Teamwork:

  • Capable of providing direction, a strong influencer and can communicate the advantages and disadvantages with proven ability to influence outcomes.
  • Coach & Mentor direct reports (NAM & NAE) to build and create best practices and deliver  the vision for retail centre of excellence.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and execution of plans
  • Manage and own your professional development in order to achieve your work objectives and your career and personal goals.

 

About You

  • Strong understanding of the retail landscape to drive the vision and aspirational growth plans across grocery, convenience, and online channels.
  • Skilled in negotiation, relationship management, and strategic planning.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Passion for the drinks industry and understanding of consumer preferences.

Professional Requirements

  • Proven experience in national account management, ideally within the drink or FMCG industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, pricing, and P&L performance.
  • Proficient in using data analytics tools and systems to drive decision-making.
